Working at every level of the practice you will establish yourself as the back bone of the business. It will be your plans, systems and procedures that under pin the service delivery of the practice and ensure its profitability, develop its reputation and mitigate future commercial risk.
Yes, you will love a good KPI and everything has an ROI attached to it. Yet this is not accountancy. It requires tenacity and business acumen. The role is about future planning and that is something you know requires managed risk, clear decision making and continual assessment.
You don’t mind making tough decisions but you will have the ear and the confidence of every member of the team and as such these will be managed and supported.
Everyone is a potential customer and as such their opinion is as valid as the principles, it is of course how you manage this information that defines your abilities.
Along with outstanding administrative skills and experience of accounting, invoicing and industry specific software, you will be a great communicator, verbally and in writing. You must be able to communicate plans, reports and decisions in writing so that they can be referred back and audited. Your systems must be documented, flexible and easy to understand.
